Windows 8 應用商店安裝/更新應用程式時出現錯誤碼 0x80240437，通常是 Windows Update 元件損壞或 `SoftwareDistribution` 資料夾內快取異常導致。透過重設更新服務與重命名快取資料夾即可修復。

錯誤現象

應用商店下載/更新 App 時進度條卡住，最終彈出錯誤對話框：0x80240437，意指「找不到更新的內容檔案」或「更新資訊清單不一致」。

修復步驟 (標準流程)

1. Win+R → 輸入 services.msc → Enter。
2. 找到 Windows Update 服務 → 右鍵 → 「停止」。
3. 開啟檔案總管，前往 C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution (隱藏資料夾，需顯示隱藏項目)。
4. 將 `SoftwareDistribution` 資料夾重新命名為 `SoftwareDistribution.old` (或 `SoftwareDistributionOld`)。
5. 回到服務視窗，右鍵「Windows Update」→ 「啟動」。
6. 服務啟動後會自動重建乾淨的 `SoftwareDistribution` 資料夾並重新同步更新中繼資料。
7. 重新開啟應用商店嘗試安裝/更新，錯誤應已解決。

原理說明

• `SoftwareDistribution` 存放 Windows Update 下載的暫存檔、中繼資料、記錄檔。檔案損毀、版本不符、權限錯誤皆會導致 0x80240437。
• 重命名等同強制重建資料庫，Windows Update 服務啟動時會自動建立新資料夾並從 Microsoft 伺服器重新下載中繼資料。
• 同時重設 `catroot2` (憑證信任清單快取) 可修復簽章驗證失敗導致的安裝阻擋。

預防建議

• 定期執行 Windows Update 保持中繼資料最新。
• 避免在更新過程中強制關機/重啟。
• 磁碟空間不足時會導致下載不完整，保留 C 盤 ≥ 20GB 可用空間。
