命名規範

• Windows Apps (Windows 應用)： 適用於 4 吋手機至 84 吋 Surface Hub 的通用平台應用 (UWP/APPX)，簡稱「應用」。
• Windows Desktop Applications (Windows 桌面程式)： 傳統 .exe 程式，簡稱「程式」。

歷史淵源

• WP8.1/Win8.1 時代：xap (傳統) vs appx (通用)。
• Win8.1 用戶慣稱 Metro/Modern 應用。
• 開發者慣稱 UAP (Universal App Platform) 或 WinRT。
• 媒體慣稱「通用應用」。

意義

統一命名消除混淆，明確區分現代化沙箱應用與傳統桌面程式，利於開發者、用戶、媒體溝通。作為 Insider/開發者，建議遵循官方術語。
